As training gets underway in the United States, Carlo Ancelotti has given
his assessment of his first fortnight in the Chelsea manager's seat.
Speaking exclusively to Chelsea TV, the Italian has been considering the
options available to him as he approaches his first game in charge -
Seattle Sounders on Saturday.
With all players now returned from their summer breaks following the
Africans' arrival at Cobham on Monday, Ancelotti has taken a strong
travelling party across the Atlantic, but will not be overworking his
players in the early action.
'For sure we will do substitutions,' he confirmed. 'The African players
cannot play the first game because they have to improve the training and
physical condition, but after the African players will play. The first
match against Seattle we change, we change, we change.
"我們當然會做出輪換，非洲球員第一場比賽無法出場，因為他們必須先進行訓練改
善體能狀況，但在那之後他們便可以出場。"
'Now the players can play 45 minutes. We prefer the players that arrived
on July 6 because they are all in good condition.'
"現在球員可以打45分鐘，我們會先讓7月6號歸隊的球員出場，因為他們狀況不錯。"
With four games in 11 days, the 50-year-old will have a better mental
picture of his squad by the time we arrive back in London
經過11天內四戰後，安切洛蒂會更了解球隊。
'We want to improve our physical condition and quality of play. This game
[Seattle], we will try something different and this is our objective.
"我們想要改善體能狀態還有比賽的質量，這場比賽我們會嘗試一些不一樣的東西。"
'The games are the most important training. In these games we will have to
improve the condition, quality of the play, to find the right
concentration to prepare a game, and for this we arrive at the right
moment.'
"比賽是最重要的訓練，我們必須增進體能和質量，找到正確的比賽專注力，我們來
的正是時候。"
Ancelotti also had good news to report on his grasp of English, which he
believes is improving the more he spends time with his players.
隨著跟球員的相處，安切的語言能力進步了。
'Language is not so easy but I think I am improving every day, because I
speak always in English. I have a lot of meetings where I speak English,
and now is better than ten days ago,' he reported.
"語言不是很輕鬆的一件事，但我認為我每天都在進步，因為我總是使用英文，現在
已經比10天前更好了。"
'It has not been a problem to speak with the players. They help me, speak
slowly and it is no problem.'
"現在跟球員溝通已經沒有問題了，他們都在幫我，盡量慢慢講，因此沒有問題。"
