布里斯本國際賽將升級
The Brisbane International tennis tournament in January will be upgraded to a
WTA premier event in 2012, placing it alongside the Italian Open and Madrid
Masters in prestige.
在一月份舉行的布里斯本國際賽 將在2012年升級為與羅馬賽及馬德里賽同等級的premier
級賽事
The promotion means the Brisbane International will rank among the top 10
women's tournaments on the annual calendar, ensuring it continues to attract
superstars like Kim Clijsters, Ana Ivanovic and Australia's grand slam
runner-up Samantha Stosur.
這個升等代表布里斯本國際賽可以確保會有世界排名前十的選手來參加
Prize money will increase from $665,000 to $1 million for the Australian Open
lead-up event.

"Securing this upgrade is great news for Queensland and it will throw the
international tennis spotlight fairly and squarely on Brisbane in 2012,"
Queensland Premier Anna Bligh said today.
