World Cup winning Coach Marcello Lippi has revealed he left
the Italy bench to “protect my son” from the Calciopoli scandal.
世界盃冠軍教頭 Lippi透露自己離開義大利國家隊，
是為了在電話門醜聞中『保護自己的兒子』。
The tactician had already decided to quit his post before the tournament
kicked off in Germany and handed in his resignation formally after
the Final victory over France.
該屆賽事在德國開踢前他就已經決定辭職，並在決賽戰勝法國後正式遞交辭呈。
“We won because rather than just pick the best individual players,
I chose those capable of creating a solid unit,” explained Lippi.
Lippi解釋說：「我們獲勝是因為與其挑選最佳的個別球員，
我選擇了那些能創造一個團結整體的球員。」
“As for my departure, I left the Nazionale for my son. I was forced to
make this decision by the way the media was using him in the wake of
the Calciopoli chaos.”
「至於我的離開，我是為了我的兒子離開國家隊的，
因為在電話門混亂初起時媒體利用他的方式，我被迫做出這個決定。」
His son Davide was a leading figure with controversial football talent
agency GEA World, since shut down.
他的兒子 Davide是備受爭議足球經紀公司 GEA World的領銜人物。
The company had been accused of pushing players to sign for them
if they wanted to be picked for international duty.
該公司被指控壓迫球員跟他們簽約，如果他們想被選進國家隊的話。
The allegations, later proved unfounded, had also led to calls for Lippi
to step down from the Azzurri post before Germany 2006.
該主張其後被被證明是沒有事實根據的，

Speaking at the Bicocca University in Milan, where he was given
an honorary Masters degree, the former Inter and Juventus Coach
also commented on the upcoming Derby della Madonnina.

“It's a game that escapes any predictions, as there can be no favourites.
I am happy to see Ronaldo back in Serie A. It's a shame he wasn't wholly
fit when I was in charge of Inter.

我很高興能看到 Ronaldo重回義甲，我執教 Inter時他還沒完全復原太可惜了。」
“Undoubtedly the Nerazzurri are an excellent squad who have been able
to achieve some great results. Nobody can argue with their leadership.
However, it's also true that this championship has been weakened by
the absence of Juventus and the penalties inflicted on other clubs.”
「Inter無疑是隻優秀的球隊，能完成某些出色賽果，他們的領先地位無可爭議，
然而在 JUVE缺席與其他球會有罰分的狀況下，聯賽被弱化了也是事實。」
Inter may be dominating Serie A, but they are out of the Champions League
following their defeat on away goals, 2-2 on aggregate, to Valencia.
Inter在義甲可能很威，但是他們在歐冠因客場進球被 Valcencia淘汰。
Milan have reached the quarter-finals against Bayern Munich,
while Roma will face Manchester United.
Milan打進八強對上 Bayern Munich，Roma則是對上 Manchester United。
“It is a very balanced competition this year, but I have confidence
in the Italian sides,” added Lippi. “Perhaps the most difficult one
is between Roma and Manchester United.”
「今年的競賽非常平衡，但是我對義大利球隊有信心，
或許最難打的就在 Roma-Manchester United之間。」
