Lecce have officially completed the signing of Palermo midfielder
Fabio Caserta on a three-year contract.
The Salentini return to the top-flight this season, following their
promotion from Serie B, however they have so far been relatively inactive
in the summer transfer market, snapping up just Feltscher (Grasshoppers),
Cacia (Piacenza), and Antunes (Roma).
The southerners have now strengthened their ranks by completing the
signing of Palermo’s experienced midfielder Fabio Caserta.
The 29-year-old only joined Palermo last year after three seasons at
Sicilian rivals Catania, and he made 26 Serie A appearances for the
Rosanero, scoring one goal.
This has not been enough to keep him at the club though, and he has
penned a three-year contract with Lecce, worth just under €1.5m a
season.
Lecce could soon make another signing in the coming hours, as they
are reportedly close to capturing Pisa star Jose Ignacio Castillo for
€1.5m.
