http://ppt.cc/~1_M AO 2012 seedings announced Monday, 9 January, 2012 By Charlotte James The men's and women's seedings for Australian Open 2012 have been announced and, as expected, the world's top-ranked players Novak Djokovic and Caroline Wozniacki will lead the charge when the tournament begins on January 16. World No.1 Djokovic has made a strong start to the season, winning an exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi over the new year before heading to Melbourne to practice for the opening Grand Slam of 2012. The defending champion, Djokovic looked in fearsome form in the UAE, defeating Roger Federer and David Ferrer 6-2 6-1 respectively at the World Tennis Championship exhibition. The 24-year-old Serb proved himself the player to beat in 2011 winning the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the French Open and a record-breaking five ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles. He'll be bidding for a third Australian Open title having won his first Grand Slam title in Melbourne back in 2008. All eyes will be on WTA No.1 Caroline Wozniacki as she continues her quest for a first Grand Slam title in Melbourne next week. A semifinalist here in 2011, Wozniacki won six WTA titles last season, claiming a tour-leading 63 match wins to end the season in the top spot for a second-consecutive year. The Dane began her season at the Hopman Cup and now sits just 115 points ahead of her closest rival – No.2 seeded Petra Kvitova – who beat her in their group match at the Perth mixed doubles match. Wimbledon champion Kvitova made a clean sweep of her four singles matches at the Hopman Cup, establishing herself as one of the form players of 2012.
