Albert Pujols (wrist) will not require a rehab assignment before returning
from the disabled list.
"A guy like that doesn't need it," Cardinals manager Tony La Russa said this
weekend. "They're experienced. They're talented. They're smart. They do work
and they get a lot out of it. Experience is a great equalizer." Pujols'
fractured left wrist showed significant improvement in a checkup Friday. He
could return to the St. Louis starting lineup before the All-Star break or
soon after.
