Classy Murray eases past Querrey
Andy Murray comfortably defeated American Sam Querrey 7-6 6-1 in the
second round of the Cincinnati Masters.
Murray started poorly, losing his opening service game to love, and
slipped 3-0 down in the opening set.
But the Scot eventually found his range, playing several awesome lobs,
as he took the first set to a tie-break, which he controlled to win 7-3.
Murray then raced into a 4-0 lead in the second set as Querrey fell
apart with a series of unforced errors.

The 21-year-old Murray, who had a bye in the first round, will now play
either Richard Gasquet, who he beat at Wimbledon, or Dimitry Tursunov.
"I have played Tursunov three times and beaten him three times and he is a
slightly more erratic player," said Murray.
"I have played Gasquet three times and only beaten him the once, at
Wimbledon."
The first set was characterised by unforced errors, with 21 from Querrey
alone.
A wild forehand from the 20-year-old American handed the eighth seed a
mini-break at the start of the tie-break and the Scot never looked back.
Murray raced through his service games and broke Querrey three times as
the American ran out of ideas in the second set.
The Scot will be hoping to replicate his form last week, reaching the
last four in Toronto before losing to Rafael Nadal.
"For me, it is a really important tournament and I want to do well," he said.
"I've got a good chance of moving my ranking up again this week. To try to
get myself seeded in the top eight for the US Open is key, so I want to try
and do better than the guys that are ranked around me.
606: DEBATE
Andy looks very confident now and I expect him to continue having very good
results during the hardcourt season

Murray added: "I was feeling pretty uncomfortable on the court to start with.
"It is so fast here compared to last week and I was struggling to control the
ball early on and getting a bit frustrated.
"But when I calmed down and played a few more games I started to play better
and won comfortably in the end."
Murray had a scan on a long-standing knee problem before the tournament
but the injury did not seem to trouble him during the match.
"It is something that comes and goes when I play a lot of tennis," he said.
"Some days are better than others, it is a bit of inflammation around the
kneecap, but I think that is normal on this surface.
"I chased a lot of balls down and I was hitting the ball harder as it went on
so I definitely feel good."
In other second round matches, Rafael Nadal raced to another overwhelming
victory beating Florent Serra 6-0, 6-1 in just 46 minutes.
It was the 30th consecutive match victory for Nadal, who nows trails
world number one in the ATP rankings by just 300 points.
Elsewhere, third seed Novak Djokovic beat Simone Bolelli 7-6 7-6 and
seventh seed James Blake defeated Gilles Simon 6-4 6-3.
"I didn't play at my top level, I was up and down with my serve," said
Djokovic, who had to save 10 break points.
Fifth seed David Ferrer of Spain lost out 7-6 3-6 6-3 to Ecuador's
Nicolas Lapentti.
In the doubles, Jamie Murray and Simon Aspelin secured a place in the
third round with a 6-3 7-6 win over Martin Damm and Pavel Vizner.
Murray and his Swedish partner, playing their first tournament together,
overcame the veteran Czech pair in just over 90 minutes.
The Czechs battled back after losing the first set to save three break
points in the second and force a tie-break, but Murray and Aspelin prevailed.
