Juventus chief Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has told the club's
dithering stars that they will fight for major honours next season.
David Trezeguet followed in the stud marks of Gigi Buffon and
Mauro Camoranesi yesterday, by announcing that he would only stay in Turin
if the club build a competitive team on their expected return to Serie A.

“We are the first ones who want a side who can compete at
the highest levels,” responded Cobolli Gigli this afternoon.
Cobolli Gigli作出回應：「我們才是第一個想要球隊能在最高水平競爭的人。」
“I hope that our champions will remain with us,
but I am aware that this will depend on the results we achieve
and the conversations we will have with them.
「我希望我們的冠軍們能留下，不過我知道這得看我們達成的結果，
還有我們將與他們所進行的對談。」
“This is my wish as the President of the club and
as a Juventus supporter,”explained the Bianconero.
「這是我做為球會主席與 JUVE球迷的心願。」
“We will try to convince them with facts by immediately returning
to Serie A. Alex Del Piero and Pavel Nedved are excellent examples
to follow, as they decided to stay with us during the summer.
「我們將試著以直接重回義甲的戰果說服他們，
Del Piero、Nedved是值得效法的傑出典範，他們在今夏決定留下。」
“Buffon woke up one morning and thought he would remain to see what it
felt like to play in Serie B. Camoranesi and Trezeguet then did the same.”

Many newspapers have recently speculated that the current Old Lady
could compete in this year's Serie A, but the President refused to be
drawn on the comparisons.
許多報紙近來猜測現在的 JUVE陣容就能在今年的義甲競爭，主席拒絕比較。
“Not even a Coach would be able to say what the gap between
Juve and the other Serie A teams might be now,” he explained.
他說：「甚至都沒有一個教練能說出 JUVE跟現在義甲其他球隊的差距了。」
“I can only say that I am sure that next year's championship
will be more competitive than the current one.”
「我只能說我確信來年的聯賽的競爭會比今年的更激烈。」
Juventus, despite their nine-point Calciopoli deduction,
hit the top of Serie B on Saturday after a 1-0 win over Verona.
