The Spaniards face Germany in the Euro 2008 finale on Sunday, looking to land their first major international title since they beat the USSR to secure the European title in 1964. And Guiza, the Real Mallorca marksman, revealed to the press on Saturday that if he and his side were to be successful, he would enjoy a personal celebration by marrying his long-term girlfriend Nuria Bermudez. The 27-year-old, was leading scorer in La Liga last season after a sensational season saw him score 27 goals, none of which were from the penalty spot. So while his professional career hits its peak, Guiza has confirmed that a memorable Spanish victory on Sunday would prompt him to propose "If I win the title with my country, we will go forwards and marry," Guiza, who scored the clinching goal in the 3-0 semi-final victory over Guus Hiddink ’s Russia, revealed to AFP. According to reports, Guiza will have a €214,000 win bonus to enjoy with his partner if the Spaniards win, as will his other international team-mates. His situation partly mirrors that of under-fire France head coach Raymond Domenech, who decided to propose to his long-term girlfriend in the immediate aftermath of his team’s exit from the competition in the group stages. Bermudez is the mother of Guiza’s son Daniel and is a former model and actress. She now works as his agent. She can expect to have a busy summer after Euro 2008 with a number of clubs including Fenerbache, Arsenal, Valencia and Roma reportedly interested in the player’s signature.
