[消息] Monroe, Twins agree to $3.82 million, 1-year contract
Outfielder Craig Monroe and the Minnesota Twins agreed Tuesday to a $3.82
million, one-year contract, a cut of 20 percent from his $4,775,000 salary
this year with the Chicago Cubs.
Monroe split this year with the Detroit Tigers and Chicago Cubs, who acquired
him Aug. 23. The 30-year-old hit a combined .219 with 12 homers and 59 RBIs
this year.
Monroe, obtained by the Twins on Nov. 13 for a player to be named, probably
will spell Michael Cuddyer and Delmon Young at the corner outfield positions.
Monroe is a career .256 hitter over five-plus major league seasons, mostly
with the Tigers.
The deadline to offer contracts to unsigned players on 40-man rosters is
Wednesday.
