Former Newcastle winger Laurent Robert is poised to become Derby
manager Paul Jewell's third January signing.
Frenchman Robert, 32, has impressed while training with the Rams and
Jewell is confident the deal will go through.
"He's done exceptionally well in training, and hopefully he will be a
Derby player on Tuesday," he said.
Tottenham's Hossam Ghaly has also been linked with the club, while
Argentine striker Emanuel Villa and Danny Mills have already signed.
French left-winger Robert, who also played in the Premiership with
Portsmouth, is likely to sign until the end of the season as Jewell looks
to plot for the future.
"I would think he will be on a short-term contract, but I don't want
to say too much until it's done and dusted," he added.
