PLAYOFF-BOUND: A 9-5 victory over Inland Empire Monday ensured the Storm would
finish the season with a flourish -- they carry a five-game winning streak into
their first-round playoff series against High Desert -- but it was Lancaster's
loss to Rancho Cucamonga earlier in the day that clinched the spot for the
Storm. The Storm occupied the top spot in the standings for most of the second
half, but with both Lancaster and High Desert challenging over the season's
final week, the Storm swept Inland Empire to claim the title.

important factor in the league playoffs. The staff finished the season with a
3.91 ERA, second-best in the league only to San Jose. The stellar pitching was
definitely necessary for Lake Elsinore to qualify for the postseason,
considering its offense finished dead last in hitting (.259) and runs scored
(689). LHP Cesar Ramos paced the starting rotation with a 3.70 ERA,
second-lowest in the league behind the 3.68 of Modesto's Franklin Morales.

characterized as a roller-coaster ride, the games it played Wednesday and
Thursday could be offered as evidence. On Wednesday, the Storm enjoyed a
season-high offensive outburst in a 20-10 rout of Rancho Cucamonga, overcoming
an early 7-0 deficit and scoring nine runs in the fourth inning. The next day,
the Storm and Quakes battled through eight scoreless frames before 2B
Christopher O'Riordan's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth gave Lake
Elsinore a 1-0 victory
如果Lake Elsinore能發揮像在星期三跟星期四那樣的比賽的話，星期三那天，storm以
20-10的超高比數擊敗Rancho Cucamonga，隔天星期四以1-0超低比數獲勝。
