MVP: Alex Rodriguez - In a division that boasts three former AL MVPs
(A-Rod, Jason Giambi, Miguel Tejada) and a couple of guys who have
finished second in the past (David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez), there’s bound
to be some competition for the award. Alex Rodriguez is still (far and
away) the best offensive player in this division, though. Rodriguez would
appear to be a lock to hit forty homers for the ninth time in ten years,
has terrific average-hitting skills, and is a lock for 120 RBI. Toss in
fifteen or twenty stolen bases and gold glove caliber defense at the hot
corner, and nobody can truly compare, though the Boston contingent will
find a way to try and push Ramirez and Papi into the discussion again.
