Latino Baseball Hall of Fame Honors Alex Rodriguez
Latino baseball players have been largely overlooked in past; but today they
are entering the majors in greater numbers and becoming legends in where they
are receiving honorary recognition in the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame.
New York Yankees' third baseman Alex Rodriguez received a recognition award
for being the youngest Latino MLB player to pass 600 homers in his career;
Cameron Diaz attended ceremony with him in La Romana, Dominican Republic.
Other legendary players inducted into the Latin Baseball Hall of Fame were
Dominican Ricardo Carty, Venezuelan Andres Galarraga, Puerto Rican Edgar
Martinez, Cuban Luis Tiant, Nicaraguan Dennis Martinez, Panamanian Manny
Sanguillen and Mexican Fernando Valenzuela.
Veteran players Ruben Gomez, Vidal and Hector Lopez, Oscar (Negro) Prieto,
Horacio Martinez, Adolfo Luque and Jose Luis (Chile) Gomez were recognized in
the tribute.
