Alex dated actress Cameron Diaz for almost two years, but the couple were
just not meant to be forever. The couple remained coy about their
relationship to the press, but were regularly photographed together.
Throughout their 2-year relationship, they frequently parted ways only to
land back together again.
Once again, we are being told the two will remain friends. Alex recently
spoke about the breakup and said, “I have a lot of love for Cameron. We’ll
always be friends.” A source echoes A-Rod’s sentiments, “They have
considerable respect for each other.” At the time of the split, a source
confirmed it, but warned people not to look for any juicy gossip. Sources say
the split was completely amicable.
Another source cites Alex and Cameron’s busy schedules as the main reason
behind the split. “She’s very busy with her career,” referring to Cameron’
s acting career. Alex has also got a lot of work to do this baseball season.
“He’s had injuries and wants to focus on his game,” explains the source.
This may be great news for New York Yankees fans. Fans often blame
significant others for a lack in sporting ability. The newly single Alex will
be able to focus more on the game then worrying about his love life according
to some fans.
Cameron has said before she has no interest in marriage. When asked whether
she thought marriage was a dying institution, she quickly answered, “I do. I
think we have to make our own rules.” At that time, she admitted her
relationship with Alex was “really awesome.”
Despite all the “we are still friends” lines, Cameron looked a little down
when she went out for some errands last Friday. The 39-year-old actress was
spotted leaving a salon after a little pampering, but she still looked to be
