Kafelnikov refuses to discuss future

MINSK, Feb 7 (Reuters) - Former world number one Yevgeny Kafelnikov, who has not played since October and whose tennis future is shrouded in speculation, refused to discuss his plans on Saturday.
"I have nothing to say to you at the moment," the Russian, who turns 30 later this month, said after attempts by local media in the Belarus capital to find out if he had retired.
Kafelnikov was in Minsk, the first time he has made a public appearance since November, helping the Russian Davis Cup team prepare for their World Group first round tie against the hosts.
The tie is level at 1-1 after Friday's opening singles rubbers.
Last year, the outspoken Russian said on several occasions of his desire to retire only to change his mind.
Australian Open finalist Marat Safin said in Melbourne last month that Kafelnikov, the 1996 French and 1999 Australian Open champion, weighed more than 20 kilograms above his playing weight of 85 kilos and had retired.
