Roma Still Fighting For Scudetto
Roma continued their pursuit of leaders Inter as they picked up a fine 3-1
win at Udinese last Sunday, their second league victory on the bounce.
The Giallorossi remain four points behind the Nerazzurri with five games of
the season remaining, but this weekend could prove pivotal.
While Roma have a relatively straightforward home clash against
bottom-of-the-league Livorno, Inter face a tricky little trip to Torino, who
will be fired up to impress their new boss Gianni De Biasi.
With the capital-outfit playing on Saturday evening, 24 hours before Inter,
they will have a great chance to heap pressure on their rivals by cutting the
gap temporarily to one point.
Luciano Spalletti’s men will be huge favourites for the game, and their
confidence will have been further boosted in midweek when they beat Catania
1-0 in their Coppa Italia semi-final first leg at the Olimpico.
Livorno Facing The Drop
Livorno are back at the bottom of the table following a disastrous 2-1 home
defeat to fellow relegation struggler's Cagliari last weekend.
The Tuscans really couldn’t have hit a bad patch of form at a worst point of
the season. They are now without a win in seven games, picking up just three
points, and scoring only three goals, during this time.
In fact scoring goals has been a real problem for Livorno, and they have
scored just eight goals in their last 16 games in Serie A, never managing to
score more than one in any single match.
Their chances of staying up look bleak, as following this match with Roma,
they then have to play Milan, although their last game of the season, against
fellow strugglers Empoli, could prove decisive.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Roma: Mirko Vucinic. The striker has enjoyed an excellent run of form
recently and last Sunday he scored a crucial equaliser against Udinese to
lead his team on to victory.
Livorno: Francesco Tavano. The 29-year-old has scored 10 goals this season,
and has returned to something close to the fine player who delighted
audiences at Empoli a couple of years ago. If anyone is going to save Livorno
from relegation it is Tavano.
PREDICTION
There is only one winner in this game, and if Roma score early they could
rack up a rugby score.
