Roma captain and icon Francesco Totti concedes Scudetto defeat by insisting
that Inter will win the league and believes he is partly to blame.
The Giallorossi have been playing second fiddle to Inter for the past couple
of seasons and this term they were expected to mount a serious challenge to
Roberto Mancini’s side. Although they have kept within touching distance of
their rivals from Milan, Roma have never really been able to divert the Inter
juggernaut off the Scudetto road.
Totti is now blaming himself for Roma’s failures in Serie A.
“Inter will certainly win the scudetto,” Totti told Sky Sport Italia
“I have many regrets this season, I went missing in quite a few games but
this is football.”
“As for my injury, I have began rehab and I will start playing some tennis.
I hope to be back for the new season.”
The Giallorossi still have a small chance of piping Inter to top spot but
they will need to ensure they win their remaining games and hope that Inter
lose at least one of theirs.
