Alberto Aquilani’s agent, Franco Zavaglia, is confident his client will
remain a Roma player.
Aquilani’s contract expires in 2010 and the Giallorossi are working hard to
secure his future at the club.
Several clubs have been after the midfielder and Juventus recently had a €
30m bid rejected.
Reports claim that, so far, talks have stalled because the player is
demanding a high wage deal. However, Zavaglia has every faith Aquilani will
remain in the Italian capital.
“I strongly believe that Aquilani will renew his deal with Roma after the
Euros,” Zavaglia told SportItalia.
“He grew up with Roma and he really wants to stay there.
“Recently, many things have been said which have annoyed him and in these
situations it’s always wise to speak a little and not give too much away to
the media.”
It has been reported that Aquilani is demanding a higher package than Roma’s
€2.5m per season salary cap.
