Roma captain Francesco Totti is sure that the club will make a big name
signing ahead of next season.
The Giallorossi just fell short in the Scudetto race last season, finishing
just two points behind champions Inter Milan.
Ahead of the new campaign the Romans have already snapped up John Arne Riise
from Liverpool, and Simone Loria from Siena, but Totti believes that a big
name will also soon arrive.
“I am crossing my fingers for the new arrivals,” said the 31-year-old.
“Riise and Loria are important reinforcements and they will give us a hand
towards our objectives.
“And I’m sure that the transfer campaign won’t finish there. Another big
player will be brought in and will present himself as a major force for the
new season.”
Totti snapped his anterior cruciate ligament during a match against Livorno
at the end of April, and had to undergo surgery.
However he is recovering brilliantly well, and he hopes to be fit and ready
in time for the new season.
“I am working with dedication because I want to be ready for the start of
the season. Everything is going well and I can’t wait to get started again,”
he concluded.
