Alberto Aquilani: No Problems Over New Roma Deal

Roma and Italy midfielder Alberto Aquilani has been hindered by injury
problems throughout the season and has made only seven starting appearances
in Serie A.
The 24-year-old has been dealing with an ankle problem for several weeks and
has not featured since the Champions League clash with Arsenal on March 11.
“I miss the pitch, I thought this ankle strain was less serious, but I have
been carrying it for a month,” Aquilani told Sky Sport Italia.
“I just have to rest to make it go away. Every day I wonder when I will be
able to play again. I don’t know how long it will take. We’ll see in 15
days, but there is no need for surgery.
“It’s no use crying over spilt milk, I simply hope that bad luck will leave
me alone for a while after this.”
Aquilani has been involved in negotiations over his new contract with the
Giallorossi in recent months and the D-day seems just around the corner.
“I am calm, I like it here, I’m a Roma fan and want to stay,” he insisted.
“There will be no problems and we’ll announce the renewal in a matter of
days.”
Roma host Bologna after the international break and then play Lazio in the
Rome derby a week later.
