Italy Under-21 defender Marco Motta is set to join Roma on a permanent basis following his loan spell there from Udinese, according to reports. Motta joined the Giallorossi in February on a loan deal which expires this summer. The loan agreement included an option to buy the player permanently, and it seems the Lupi are in the process of sealing a deal. The stopper has impressed Luciano Spalletti and he has been offered a contract after Udinese and Roma agreed a fee. Tuttomercatoweb.com claims Roma will pay Udinese around €3.5million to obtain the full rights to the player. The move will be seen as a major coup in Rome as reports suggested Juventus and Fiorentina were pushing for the defender. The move comes less than 24 hours after the club signed Stefano Guberti from Bari. Motta is currently in Sweden with the Azzurrini. Pierluigi Casiraghi's side clash with Belarus later tonight. a win will see them through to the next phase of the Under-21 European Championship.
