Roma Star Alberto Aquilani: This Will Be My Season

Roma ace Alberto Aquilani is eyeing a successful season following the injury
he sustained last term. The midfielder has been working overtime in order to
be fit for the big kick-off.
Aquilani has spent most of the summer in Amsterdam following surgery to his
left ankle on May 13. He has been recovering well and he has returned to Rome
to continue his rehabilitation while the rest of the team are at their
pre-season retreat in Riscone di Brunico.
The Italian midfielder cannot wait to begin the new season and he admits he
wants to be ready for Serie A action.
"I have not even had a day of holiday as I am only interested in returning to
the pitch as soon as possible," Aquilani, who turned 25 yesterday, told Il
Corriere Dello Sport.
"I am ready and I want this to be my season."
The estimated recovery time when he had surgery was between two and three
months. Unless there is another major set back, Aquilani is looking to return
at the beginning of August. He is expected to have a final check up before he
makes his comeback.
