Montella: 'Derby means Roma title'

Vincenzo Montella believes a victory in the derby will mean the Scudetto
is in Roma’s hands. “Inter’s win could be an advantage.”
Last week the Giallorossi jumped to the top of the table for the first time
this season, but on Friday Jose Mourinho’s men beat Juventus 2-0 to
recapture the leadership.
“Roma have been chasing throughout the entire campaign, so paradoxically
it may well be an advantage that Inter won,” Montella told Sky Italia.
The former striker has been through the Derby della Capitale many times
and gave his view of the game, which you can watch LIVE on ESPN from
17.30 UK time.
“It is an important derby for Roma and they are gambling with a large
chunk of the Scudetto. A victory would mean gaining even more belief.
“Lazio have two results out of three to satisfy them, as even a draw
could be enough to trip up their rivals. It’s going to be a very tense
encounter.”
Claudio Ranieri even has numerous choices for his line-up, as Francesco
Totti, Jeremy Menez and Luca Toni are all challenging to partner Mirko
Vucinic.
“It’s been a while since Roma were spoilt for choice this way and
there are great players on the bench,” added Montella.
“Ranieri’s work has been miraculous, especially considering what people
said about Roma at the start of the season.
“Regardless of how the title race ends, this has been an extraordinary
campaign.”
