Toni: 'Thank you Roma'
On-loan Luca Toni hopes Sunday’s game will be “a see you soon rather than a
goodbye” for Roma.
The striker is still owned by Bayern Munich and made the temporary switch to
the Olimpico in January.
However, the German side confirmed this week that he will not be welcomed
back and so it is up to him to find a new club in Italy or abroad.
“This is the last game of the season,” wrote Toni on his official website
ahead of the trip to Chievo.
“I take this opportunity to thank all the Roma staff, the President, Coach
and directors right the way down to the kit technicians, for their splendid
welcome and unconditional faith.
“A thank you from the heart to my teammates and all the Giallorossi
supporters for the warmth and affection shown to be from my first day here.”
Toni also referred to the possibility of a Scudetto celebration this weekend,
as Roma will take the title if they win and Inter either draw or lose at
Siena.
