Roma are interested in signing Corinthians left-back Roberto Carlos, according to a report in Lancenet. The 37-year-old defender, who spent 11 years at Real Madrid, returned to Brazil in December after leaving his homeland in 1995. During his official unveiling, Carlos stressed that his time in Europe "was over", but Roma are allegedly prepared to give him food for thought. Last month, a Roma representative reportedly contacted Carlos' agent, Fabiano Farah, to learn about the possibility of the left-back moving to the Stadio Olimpico. Corinthians, who signed the player on a free, are interested in extending the player's stay at the club until 2012, but it is believed they would not turn down a lucrative offer for the 37-year-old as they prepare for next season.
