Goran hails Tomic as our next tennis star Angela Habashy November 13, 2010 AAP Bernard Tomic is "Australia's next big player", declared former Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic, and the big-hitting youngster agrees with the man he calls his friend . The charismatic Croat is a big fan of the 18-year-old even predicting a top 10 ranking for the Queenslander. "He won Australian Open juniors at 15, so there's a lot of expectation on him and everybody thought he was going to move faster in the ranking. "But I think he has great potential, I think he's going to be Australia's next great player," Ivanisevic told AAP. "I don't know how great, he can be top 10... it depends on him. And as for thoughts of defecting to Croatia, they seem a thing of the past. "No one can give me what Australia has given me, I feel so comfortable playing here," Tomic said.
