今天聽到的消息... 我還蠻喜歡的... 但似乎被打了很多槍.... Report: Jones-for-Izturis talk never happened That report about the Angels and Pirates discussing a Garret Jones-for-Maicer Izturis deal? Never happened according to Dejan Kovacevic’s sources. Kovacevic (the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Pirates beat writer) tweets that the Pirates say they never discussed a trade with the Angels. Believe who you want to believe (that’s the first rule of Trade Deadline 101). But a Jones-for-Izturis deal sure seems like something the Angels should be interested in – if it was ever broached. Izturis became redundant with the addition of Alberto Callaspo last week. Jones gives the Angels something they seriously lack – a power threat. And he plays either first base (this year) or left field (next when Kendry Morales returns). Izturis too much for Pirates' Jones? The Angels reportedly have checked in on the availability of Pittsburgh first baseman/outfielder Garrett Jones, but balked at sending Maicer Izturis to the Pirates for the 29-year-old, AOL Fanhouse's senior MLB writer Ed Price reports in his latest column. Price writes that the Angels wouldn't send Izturis to Pittsburgh, but that was before the team acquired infielder Alberto Callaspo from Kansas City. Callaspo is very similar to Izturis, and the Angels might be willing to deal the injury-prone Izturis for a bat like Jones'. This season, Jones is hitting .270 with 12 home runs and 56 RBI.
