Giovanni Trapattoni’s Stuttgart have made contact with Barcelona
over unwanted striker Javier Saviola.
The pint-sized Argentine does not appear to figure in coach Frank
Rijkaard’s plans for next season, and could be as far down as fourth
in the pecking order of strikers behind Samuel Eto'o, Maxi Lopez
and Henrik Larsson.
Now that the Confederations Cup is finished, Saviola’s future is
expected to be settled.
The player is keen to stay at Camp Nou, but his future now surely
lies elsewhere.
Atletico Madrid, despite this week’s signing of Mateja Kezman from
Chelsea, are still interested in the former River Plate star who
spent last season on loan at Monaco.
