[Goal.com] http://tinyurl.com/375mf7p Argentina captain Javier Mascherano came out to defend teammate Martin Demichelis, who made an awful error and enabled South Korea to score their only strike in a 4-1 Albiceleste victory. 'Micho' completely misjudged a flicked on header some twenty metres away from his own goal, failing to either control or clear the ball. This allowed Korean midfielder Lee-Chung Yong to sneak in and fire the ball past keeper Sergio Romero, quickening Argentine pulses as the teams went in at 2-1 to the South Americans. But Mascherano, speaking in a post-game press conference was quick to take some of the blame away from his companion. The captain claimed that "with the noise in the stadium it is very difficult to communicate with each other and Micho didn't hear that someone was coming up behind him. But this is what football is about, coming out to help our teammates." Mascherano also declared himself pleased with the way the team acquitted itself, against a South Korea side thought to be a potential banana skin before the match. "From the first minute we controlled the ball and rhythm, (South Korea) couldn't unsettle us at all.
