Wenger brought out the big guns for the second leg of their semi-final with Wigan, and they looked to have turned the tie around when Thierry Henry and Robin van Persie rubbed out Paul Jewell's side 1-0 advantage from the first leg. However, Jason Roberts popped up in the final minute of extra time to grab a historic victory for Wigan and send them to Cardiff for the final. Wenger felt that The Gunners gave everything they could, but could just not see off a gutsy Wigan side. "It was unfortunate to lose in the last minute," Wenger told Sky Sports after the game. "We had two or three chances where we did too much. We didn't score the third goal but the team gave everything. "Good luck to Wigan in the final." Wenger had special praise for goalkeeper Mike Pollitt, who made a string of fine saves including a penalty from Jose Antonio Reyes. "I feel their 'keeper had a great game. He kept them in the game but a night like that happens. "We still won the game but it was not enough. We think we had a good game but it was the kind of cup tie that could go for both sides. "If we have regrets it is the way we conceded the goal, it was a bit naive."
