The 19-year-old winger had been told by the Foxes that they could not guarantee him first team football, so the loan spell was terminated by mutual consent. The young Englishman had originally joined Leceister on loan for three months, but deal was later extended to become season-long. In his first few games for the Foxes, Smith had impressed the fans with his skillful play and close control. However, Leicester have since had a change in manager, and Smith found his playing time had dramatically decreased. Current Leicester manager Rob Kelly said: "The reason Ryan came here in the first place was for first team football. "But we couldn't guarantee Ryan would get the involvement he wanted.
