Martin and Ashley both used to be strikers before becoming successful defenders as they progressed through the Gunners youth team and 16 year-old Abu hopes to do the same: "Although I am not a defender, I am a defensive midfielder and am very much focused on the defensive part of the game," he explains. Ogogo跟Keown與Ashley一樣，在改打防守型位置之前，是個前鋒，不過Keown與Ashely 是後衛，而Ogogo是防守中場。 "That has meant a change in the way I think, but it is a change that I wanted to make and not one I fell into. I used to play in attack for England and I was a striker whilst I was with Wimbledon. In fact," smiles Abu, "I used to play along side Marc Elston when were both there. I watched their positioning, how they tried to pass and move and keep everything simple, but I kept getting distracted by Thierry Henry and the other attackers as they poured forward all over Juventus. I had to keep trying to make myself concentrate on the job the midfielders were doing in front of the back four but it was hard not to get distracted on a night like that!" beams the youngster. Ogogo說看到這比賽學到很多，他目前也正在訓練中學著如何傳接護球等。 Whilst the attacking performances were awe-inspiring against Juventus, it is as a defensive midfielder that the youngster wants to develop his career: "I wasn’t tempted to switch back after Tuesday night, it actually inspired me more to develop my game in midfield. The good thing is," adds Abu, "I had quite a good record in attack both for Wimbledon and England and so when I do get in the box I’m quite confident and so that should go a long way to make me a midfielder who is comfortable in defence and attack." 即使看到槍手對祖文進攻方面的表現，Ogog表示他不會因此就想回到他過去前鋒的位置。他認為看這場比賽更增強他想打後腰的決心。他過去打前鋒的經驗也會對他在後腰位置上參與進攻與防守的表現有幫助。 The youngster was spotted whilst playing for Fulham and joined Arsenal after successfully completing a six-week trial: "I was just so impressed with the facilities and quality of coaching, I knew it had to be Arsenal," he recalls. The midfielder hails from Tadworth near Epsom in Surrey and makes a three-hour round trip journey by train, three times a week to get to the Chingford-based Academy: "I’m doing well at school and if I have to miss training sometimes to get my coursework done that is not a problem for Arsenal. The travelling is OK because I know it is something I have to do. I am taking my GCSEs in May and hope to do well so that I can then dedicate myself 100 per cent to making my career as a footballer. I am really looking forward to next season and being a full-timer. I can’t wait. I hope to become a regular in the Under-18s central midfield and then get as much reserve team experience as I can so that I can keep developing my game," declares Abu, re-emphasising: "I just can’t wait." I would say they are my idols. I just admire the way that they keep things simple but can have such an impact on the game. Those players have the power to stop the opposition playing but are often at the beginning of attacking moves for their teams. That’s the sort of impact I want to make one day." Ogogo的偶像是曼聯前隊長基恩，他也喜歡馬克萊萊。這兩個球星雖然動作簡鍊但對比賽的影響甚鉅，不但有力量可以阻斷對方的進攻，也常是己方攻擊的發起者，Ogogo 希望自己有一天也能像這兩人一樣。這名字挺有趣的...
