http://tinyurl.com/lu7ks HENRY CROWNED BARCLAYS PLAYER OF YEAR Arsenal captain Thierry Henry has won the Barclays Player of the Year Award after a season of sparkling performances and record-breaking goals. The 28-year-old has consistently been the match-winner for his club and is the current leading goalscorer in the Barclays Premiership on 24 goals. He has scored two or more goals on no fewer than eight occasions in the league this season. Henry's campaign has also been marked by a series of significant milestones. He surpassed Cliff Bastin's club goalscoring record in October before going on to become the first Arsenal player to score 200 goals for the club, in February's 2-0 win at Birmingham City. Fittingly in Arsenal's last campaign at Highbury, Henry has saved his best form for the home fans. He has hit the Highbury net 17 times in the Barclays Premiership this term and, in November, became the first Arsenal player to record 100 league goals at the ground. Henry was given the Barclays Player of the Year Award by the Barclays Awards Panel, which includes representatives from football's governing bodies, the media and fans.
