Sturridge has been urged to stay at Eastlands by manager Stuart Pearce, Academy director Jim Cassell and lately by Andy Cole. But he told M.E.N. Sport in an exclusive interview: "I just want to play football and try to play in any first team to be honest. "I just get my head down and don't focus on any speculation. I try to play to the best of my ability. "Hopefully, the manager is watching so I may get pushed into the first team as soon as possible. "He tells everyone that if you play well, no matter what age you are, you will get your chance." Sturridge, already capped and scoring for England Under-17's, notched three times for the reserves last season from nine appearances. He also netted 11 times for the Academy side. Sturridge, whose heroes include Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho, is the nephew of former professionals Dean and Simon Sturridge. （亨利是他的偶像之一） "They are an inspiration to me because I watched them when I was younger.
