It means the Gunners must settle for a straight ￡16million cash deal for the 25-year-old England full-back, after rejecting the chance to sign winger Shaun Wright-Phillips in part-exchange. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is desperate to sign a world-class central defender to partner Kolo Toure next season, with French international Gallas his No 1 target. Yet Chelsea refused to release Gallas even when AC Milan were keen to take him as part of Andrei Shevchenko’s ￡31m move to Stamford Bridge. And Blues chief Jose Mourinho has made it clear their London title rivals are even less of an option, even though the player has only one year of his contract to run. Wenger has gone cold on out-of-favour Wright-Phillips, who Mourinho would allow to leave. Mourinho still hopes to have Cole, who has a ￡16m release clause in his current contract, signed this week. 太陽報的新聞~~ 看來兩隊在操作A.Cole的轉會上仍然持續著 1600萬英鎊的數字多次以來也一直被提及原先本來的構想是: A.Cole <-> SWP + 轉會費而這應該也是藍獅比較屬意的方案不過溫格對SWP興趣降低, 加上我們中衛有缺口因此想要操作成為: A.Cole <-> Gallas + 轉會費這個提案看來切爾西比較不肯我個人其實是蠻喜歡後者提案的它非常務實的針對了雙方不足的地方做了補強只是以兩邊現階段的競爭情勢來說操作起來難度的確高了不少... -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.228.247.197
