Henry targeting cup clash
By Tom Adams - Created on 16 Dec 2006
Thierry Henry is targeting Arsenal's FA Cup clash with Liverpool in January
as the occasion to mark his return to fitness.
The Gunners skipper has been sidelined since November 29 with a
hamstring-related problem and has been forced to adopt the role of
cheerleader during a busy period in the club's season.
However, the French international striker is hoping he can shake off his
sciatic nerve problem in time to take on The Reds in the third round of the
FA Cup on 9th January.
Indeed Henry has assured Gunners fans he will return a more hungry and highly
motivated performer as a result of his enforced rest, after starting the
season in underwhelming fashion following his participation in the World Cup.
"The problem has been with my hamstring, a sciatic nerve. I have spoken to
the boss about it and I think I will miss all of Christmas, but hopefully I
can come back quickly in the New Year," Henry wrote in his programme notes
for the 2-2 draw with Portsmouth.
"It might be a nice way to come back against Liverpool in the FA Cup, but we
will have to see, because it might be a bit afterwards.
"I have played a lot of games this year, but put it this way - if I did not
have my sciatic nerve bothering me, then I would be out there on the pitch
now.
"I am never happy to miss one game, so when I know I am going to miss a
month, I have to prepare myself.
"You have to accept sometimes it happens.
"Hopefully I will benefit from the rest, though - and trust me, I will come
back as hungry as ever."
有他最後一句話~~讓人聽了寬心多了

等你回來!!
