The French midfielder hurt his ankle in the incident which left John Terry unconscious. Thankfully the Chelsea captain made a swift recovery after being stretchered off at the Millennium Stadium but Diaby, who limped off six minutes later, may not return so quickly. That could have repercussions for Walcott. "We had planned to have a shoulder operation for Walcott but I will maybe try to delay it because we lost Diaby and it looks like [Walcott] can play with the injury," explained Arsene Wenger after Arsenal's 2-1 defeat. "We want to do the operation so he can start next season without any problem but it is a ligament, not a big injury. It was Diaby who hit the head of John Terry. He did his ankle." If Walcott's surgery is postponed he will get the chance to add to his Arsenal goals tally after breaking his duck in style at the Millennium Stadium. Wenger was full of praise for the 17-year-old after an impressive display on the right flank. "It was not just important to score," said Wenger. "Theo is at a period in his career when it is just as important to have a good performance. You can score and play badly but he had a very good performance and scored a good goal.
