A) Construction started on March 1, 2004, and practical completion was reached — slightly ahead of schedule — on July 14, 2006. Therefore the venue took 123 weeks and two days to complete. The area was first identified as the site for the new stadium by the Club in November 1999, and the first game — the Dennis Bergkamp Testimonial — took place on July 22, 2006. 新球場總體的規劃到建設完畢從2004年3月1日至2006年7月14日為止，共花了123週又2天。而那個區域早在1999年11月就已經決定為新球場的預建地。第一場比賽是2006年7月22日舉辦的冰王子紀念賽。 Q) I know the pitch is bigger at Emirates Stadium, but how much bigger is it than Highbury, and is it now the biggest in the Premiership? A) The pitch at Emirates Stadium is 105 metres long by 68 metres wide. The old playing surface at Highbury was 100 metres by 66.7 metres. 105m x 68m is the ‘standard’ UEFA size for a playing surface, Arsenal now has the joint biggest pitch in the Premier League. 新的球場是105M*68M，而之前的海布理是100M*66.7M。新的球場大小跟UEFA的標準規格是一樣的。 Q) The dugout area at Emirates Stadium looks huge. How many seats are there in there? A) Emirates Stadium holds 60,432, broken down as follows: 26,646 in the upper tier, 24,425 in the lower tier, 7,139 at Club Level and 2,222 at Box Level. This includes 128 seats in the Directors’ Box and 168 in the Diamond Club. A) The Clock was removed from Highbury on July 20 and will be erected at the new stadium shortly. A) The seat base is 460mm by 400mm and 450mm from the terrace, while the seat back is 460mm wide and 410mm high. It took 30 men 16 weeks to fit the 60,000 seats.
