Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes his team paid the price for a poor
start to the match.
"Fulham started stronger than us and were quicker into the game," he said.
"In the second half, it was all us - but in fairness, credit to Fulham.
"They were always sharp and motivated and defended very well - and we didn't
create enough chances to win the game."
Wenger nonetheless did not think Arsenal deserved to lose.
"It is harsh to lose the game, but it is fair to say Fulham played well," he
said.
"In the first half, in midfield we were dominated and not strong or quick
enough - and we suffered.
"We tried very hard into the last second of the game - but we could not
score.
"The players are very disappointed. But when you want to play at the top, you
have to start a game better than we did - with more authority. We were
punished."
