Kieran Gibbs has been tipped for an England call-up this season but the
Arsenal defender is happy to focus on his Club duties for now.
Gibbs已經被點名有機會入選三獅軍團，但目前他更樂於專注在俱樂部上。
The 20-year-old has made steady progress in the past year, featuring 21 times
for the first team last term and stepping in for Gael Clichy on four
occasions this season.
20歲的他已經在上季獲得穩定成長，21次代表一線隊出賽，本季也已出場4次輪替Clichy。
Gibbs’ impressive displays at left-back prompted some – including Arsène
Wenger – to suggest that he could be part of England’s squad for next summer
’s World Cup.

Gibbs would love to be involved next June but, for now, South Africa is well
and truly at the back of his mind.

“It’s in my mind somewhere, but we have a long season yet,” Gibbs told the
Official Matchday Programme.
“At the moment I don’t really deserve to get a World Cup call because I
have nowhere near the experience that a lot of the players do, and I’ve a
great deal to prove yet.
“I’ve played a few games for Arsenal but still have a lot of work to do to
earn a place – I don’t want to be called up because of someone else’s
disappointment, I want to be selected because I’m deserving of it.
“Hopefully if I can get some more good games under my belt this season then
there might be a chance – but at the moment I’m just concentrating on the
Club and what we can do to win trophies.”
