Gallas 在 6/30 結束合同之後，將被 Arsenal 釋出，包含同樣是法國籍的同伴 Mikael Silvestre。 Arsenal refused to break their club policy on players over 30 and give Gallas anything more than a one year contract and that has alerted Paris Sanit Germain, Roma and now Juventus who are leading the chase. Arsenal 仍不願打破三十歲以上球員的簽約政策而給予 Gallas 超過一年以上的合同，引起 Pasir Saint Germain、Roma、和現在的 Juventus 來競搶他。 But it does leave Arsenal desperately short of defensive cover with Thomas Vermaelen and Johan Djourou as the club's senior defenders while Sol Campbell, 35, has been offered a new one-year deal.
