well...today was a tough day. My adductor muscle was not fully healed yet
from the 5 set win over Cilic. I was not able to play today. Overall I am
happy about this tournament. I won my last 10 matches, qualified, and my
level continues to improve. I keep working to get to the top 10! Tomorrow
back to Bradenton t...o get healthy and get ready for the fall. Thank you for
all your support this week.

NEW YORK (AFP) - Japanese qualifier Kei Nishikori's US Open run ended with a
third-round loss to Spanish 21st seed Albert Montanes, who led 6-2, 2-1 when
Nishikori retired Saturday with a groin injury after 38 minutes.
Nishikori, ranked 147th, was coming off a grueling five-set upset of Croatian
11th seed Marin Cilic. Another victory would have matched his 2008 run to the
fourth round as the best US Open showing by a Japanese man since 1937.
"I began to feel it in warmups," Nishikori said. "I could not finish the
tennis match."
Very quickly, Montanes knew Nishikori was having problems.
"He was not well physically so that was lucky for me," Montanes said. "I
realized he was very flat. He was not moving. I tried not to think of that
but he was moving quite slowly."
