借轉踢馬大在台女版推文的消息﹕ http://tinyurl.com/26tkq6y 簡單來說就是因為球迷對這個亞洲區Hopman Cup失去興趣所以停辦。這項比賽舉辦了四屆，第一屆冠軍是印度，第二、三屆冠軍是台灣，最近一屆冠軍是哈薩克。事實上這項形同雞肋的比賽也該停辦了，在最近一屆的陣容可謂弱得可憐，印度、大陸和韓國派出的陣容都超爛。代表亞洲區參賽的哈薩克在2010年的比賽中表現相當出色，雖然未能出線，但在小組賽僅負英國排名小組第二。今年哈薩克再度被挑選成為參賽隊伍，參賽選手仍為Shvedova和Golubev。 Meanwhile, McNamee flagged the collapse of the Asian Hopman Cup qualifying event as a blessing in disguise, with tournament organisers no longer restricted to selecting the qualifying nation, allowing them to lure the strongest possible field to Perth. A lack of fan interest forced organisers to abandon the event after only four years. "There won't be an Asian Hopman Cup in the foreseeable future and we'll be free to pick whatever team we want," McNamee said. "Preferably we'd like to have an Asian nation because of Western Australia's proximity and alliance with the region, but ultimately it's up to the quality of the European teams.
