這兩位屢傳不和的印度老將決定明年澳網再度搭檔出戰男雙賽事！兩人最後一次在大滿貫搭檔是2002年的澳網。兩人搭檔曾經拿下1999年的法網和溫網、以及2001年的法網冠軍；至於拆夥後Bhupathi和Max Mirnyi拿過2002年美網冠軍； Paes的成績則更好一些，與Martin Damm拿下2006年美網、以及與LukáDlouhy拿下2009年法網和美網冠軍，剛好兩人都缺的一座澳網男雙冠軍來取得生涯男雙大滿貫。兩人當年在大滿貫拆夥後都只有在大比賽才重新組合，他們拿下了2002和2006年兩屆亞運男雙金牌；在2004年雅典奧運闖進四強、2008年北京奧運則在八強止步。兩人在今年的泰國公開賽曾經重新搭檔一次，不過在首輪即被淘汰。新聞裡指出兩人在澳網前還會參加熱身賽，不過澳網後還會否繼續合作則還是未知之數。 BANGALORE: Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi will reunite in a Grand Slam after almost a decade at the Australian Open in January 2011. Bhupathi-Paes, who blazed an enviable trail in world tennis in the late 90s before some bitter, public feuding tore at the core of the team, are coming together at the Melbourne major in the hope of completing a career Slam. "It is the only Grand Slam title (Australian Open men's doubles) neither of us have won," Bhupathi told TOI. "Incidentally, the Australian Open was the last Grand Slam we played together (in 2002). We have come close to winning it in the past, but haven't done it. Since we are ranked highly individually (fifth and sixth), we will be seeded highly too and hopefully we can make it count," he added. The two aim to play one or two tournaments as warm-up events before the Australian Open with the Chennai Open in early January being a distinct possibility. Bhupathi, however, said the duo hasn't made post-Australian Open plans. "We will see how it goes and then take a call," the big-serving Bangalorean said. Paes, 37, and Bhupathi, 36, who are in London for the season-ending championships - which they will play with respective partners Lukas Dlouhy of Czech republic and Max Mirnyi of Belarus - haven't signed up partners for the new season. It has long been rumoured that Paes, who has carried the bulk of his team's load in competition, has been unhappy with Dlouhy, and with Bhupathi's partner likely to team-up with Canada's Daniel Nestor in 2011, the Indians coming together seems as logical a move as can be expected of the duo. Still, with Paes and Bhupathi, it isn't that simple. Both players have spoken of a desire to compete in the 2012 Olympics but Bangalore's Rohan Bopanna would also be in the running for a doubles berth for London Games. "The 2012 Olympics is a long way from now," Bhupathi said, "We are looking to play the Australian Open and we'll see how we do there and take things from there. We were always good as a team and we have matured now as people.
