今年奪冠後，川哥對於球隊與球員休息室間影響的一些文章都陸續有看到，甚至也有傳聞川哥之後有機會留在板凳區當教練。我就想到今年初球隊剛簽回他的時後，他有寫了一篇文章我很有印象，找了出來翻譯分享給大家。奪冠後回來看這篇還蠻有感覺的，當初看完覺得川哥是個很有經驗與想法的球員，也相信他能讓太空人變得更好。雖然今年場上的表現已經不如往年身手，但是場下的潛移默化，很多球員們都有表示川哥讓他們獲益良多，也恭喜他真的達成他的願望了。原文聯結 https://www.theplayerstribune.com/carlos-beltran-astros/ ----------------- 翻譯文開始 --------------- <Why I’m Coming Back to Houston?> <我為何要回到休士頓?> A few weeks ago, after I had decided I was going to sign with the Astros for next season, one of the first things I did was call up José Altuve and Carlos Correa. 幾周前，在我決定跟太空人簽約後的第一件事，就是打給Altuve跟Correa。 I knew there’d be a press conference in Houston, and I wanted to see if they ’d be around so we could grab dinner and talk for a bit. Correa and I have talked a lot about leadership during the past two years, and he’s always asking for advice that will help him be a clubhouse leader even though he’s one of the younger players on the team. So this kid gets it, believe me. After we parted ways, and as I drove back to my hotel, all I kept thinking was.… Wow! I’d played six and a half seasons in Kansas City, but I was still a kid. Then I spent the rest of the season learning everything I could from Biggio. Craig Biggio is one of those guys. I owe so much to that man. Over the years, anytime my team would be playing in Houston, Craig would seek me out at the stadium and come down to say hello. But, you know what.… I feel like he’ll be even more excited if I can hit a bunch of bombs this year and help get Houston back to the World Series. I know full well that, more than anything else, this team will be relying on me to produce. It feels funny to even write this, and I almost can’t believe it, but I’m about to begin my 20th season this year. I can’t wait for the chance to come through in clutch situations, and get big hits, and do everything else I can to help us get over that final hurdle this time around.
