Here are a few notes from the conversation last night:
Nash says the Blazers like four players in this draft, and maybe as many as
five or six, and he says Brandon Roy can likely be included in that group. As
has been reported elsewhere, Nash doesn't expect to be working any potential
lottery picks out until next month.
"Most won't visit until mid-June."
And Andrea Bargnani may not work out in Portland, partly because he's still
playing in Europe. And Nash mentions the rumor that Bargnani will only play
for the Raptors. Hearing Nash mention the Bargnani situaiton makes me think
it could be more than just a rumor.
What about packaging the pick with a player in order to make a trade?
"Honestly, I think there is still going to be interest in the top of the
draft, through No. 4, so I think we'll have some (trade) opportunities
develop."
"In all likelihood, I think we're likely to take that pick and use it
ourselves and keep the pick."
Finally, Nash says the Blazers view Tyrus Thomas not as a "big", but as a
player who can play both forward positions...
