Update: Roy won't play tomorrow
Brandon Roy will not be in the lineup tomorrow night when the Trail Blazers
play host to the Clippers. Roy, who will miss his 20th game because of his
left heel, worked out Thursday with teammates, although it wasn't a formal
practice as coach Nate McMillan had his players shoot, take treatment and
lift weights.
Roy, who began doing court work on Monday, said he has experienced some pain
in the left heel, but nothing serious. He compared it to the twinges he felt
during training camp and the preseason, when he was able to play through it.
McMillan said team doctors told him Roy was not cleared to practice. Roy was
not aware of that, but it was a moot point as the team did not practice.
Roy said he plans to play Wednesday in the Blazers' next game, against
Houston. McMillan is giving the team Saturday off, so Roy's first official
practice should be Sunday, if doctors clear him.
