The flu bug hits again: This time it bites Roy Posted by Jason Quick December 18, 2007 16:10PM First it was Raef LaFrentz. Then it was lead assistant Dean Demopoulos. Then it was Martell Webster. Now, the 24-hour flu bug that has been ravaging through the Blazers, has hit star Brandon Roy. Roy reported to Tuesday's practice feeling ill, and after coach Nate McMillan took one look at him, he was sent to the doctor. "I talked to Brandon before he went to the doctor _ he didn't look good,'' McMillan said. "You can look in their eyes and tell they are a little weak.'' McMillan did not come across as concerned about Roy's availability for Wednesday's home game against Toronto, saying "He will be ready to go." McMillan's confidence is based on the previous cases with Webster, LaFrentz and Demopoulos, all of whom shook the bug within 24 hours. "We've had a number of guys come down with this, and they seem to be OK after 24 hours,'' McMillan said. "So Brandon should be ready to play (Wednesday).'' Roy, of course, has been the catalyst to the Blazers' eight-game win streak. During the streak alone, Roy is averaging 24.1 points, 6.9 assists and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 50.7 percent from the field (75-of-148). In the process, he has boosted his season scoring average to 18.9, overtaking LaMarcus Aldridge (18.6) as the team's leading scorer.
