[外電] Audio: Brandon Roy talks about contract negotiations
Brandon Roy was on Seattle radio station KJR AM 950 Friday afternoon where he
was asked about how negotiations are proceeding with his contract extension,
his involvement in the recruitment of free agents this summer and his
preparation for the coming season.

of the choice quotes from the interview with KJR's Softy Mahler:
What can you tell us about what's going on right now (with your contract
negotiations)? You're about to make some serious money. So, what does it feel
like for a kid from Seattle and what's going through your mind in this
process?
For me, it's all in perspective. You know, I sit back and think about all the
hard work I put in to my dream, which is trying to be one of the best players
in the NBA. You know I can't really put it into words, you know. It is a lot
of money, and I'm excited to be able to take care of my kids, and know that
they will have a lot of resources that I didn't have. ...
You feel good that something will get done?
There's days where i feel like things will get done and then there are days
that I feel like, you know ... hey, this may not happen. So, for me, it's
50/50 right now. You know, I would love for it to get done. Even when I was
being recruited for college, I just wanted to get things done and start
preparing. I'm hoping we can get things done and I can be involved in more
things like free agency. Again, it's a business and I have to just trust my
agent.
You talked about helping out with free agency and we all know what happened
with Hedo Turkoglu, so how much of a role do you play in talking guys into
being Blazers?
Right now, I'm not playing much of any role. It's kinda hard for me to go out
and recruit Hedo Turkoglu for five years when I only got one left on my deal.
